The Intellisis Corporation was founded in 2005 by former NASA Administrator Daniel S. Goldin to develop next generation intelligent computational systems that are derived from the intersection of biology, physics and engineering. Current computational systems that attempt autonomous operations are limited in their capabilities, expensive to design and build, and exceptionally time consuming to maintain. Intellisis is pioneering flexible autonomous intelligent systems that adapt to their operating environment without pre-programming, based on learned appropriate behaviors. Located in San Diego, California and expanding its application engineering efforts to Honolulu, Hawaii, Intellisis has closed two rounds of funding and remains privately held with a rapidly growing engineering and development team. The company's initial products will provide new capabilities for perception focusing on audio, signal, and visual scene segmentation and classification and will be ready for beta testing in late 2009.
